A 60-second founder reel in an afternoon
A founder speaking plainly to camera still outperforms most produced video. AI writes the hook and the script; you bring the face, the voice and one true story.
What you need
- One story or lesson from your business
- A window for light
- Two hours
What you will have
- Ten hooks, one chosen
- A 60-second script
- A five-shot list
- An edited reel with captions
- A caption and first comment
Step 1: Ten hooks
10 minutes · Claude or ChatGPT
The first two seconds decide whether anyone sees the rest.
I run Sharma Dental Studio, selling dental implants to adults over 35 who have lost a tooth. Here is a story from my work: [two lines]. Write ten opening lines for a reel, each under eight words, each a surprise, a number or a question. No clickbait I cannot pay off.
Step 2: The script
15 minutes · Claude or ChatGPT
Three beats in sixty seconds, in your own voice.
Using hook number [n], write a 60-second script for me to say to camera. 0 to 3 s: the hook. 3 to 45 s: the story in five short sentences. 45 to 60 s: the lesson and one action for adults over 35 who have lost a tooth. Write it the way I speak, short sentences, no jargon.
Step 3: The shot list
10 minutes · Claude or ChatGPT
Five shots on a phone: mostly you to camera, two cutaways.
Turn the script into a five-shot list for a phone: framing, where I stand relative to the window, what is in the background, and two cutaways of dental implants or the workplace.
Step 4: Shoot it
30 minutes · Phone
Vertical, at eye level, facing a window. Three takes of each line; keep the best. Clip a cheap lapel mic if you have one: sound matters more than picture.
Step 5: Edit with captions
30 minutes · CapCut or Instagram
Cut every pause. Auto-captions on, then correct them. A change of shot every two or three seconds. Under sixty seconds.
Step 6: Post and pin a comment
10 minutes · Claude or ChatGPT, then Instagram
A caption that adds, not repeats, and a first comment that starts the conversation.
Write an Instagram caption for this reel under 80 words that adds one thing the video did not say, then a first comment from me asking adults over 35 who have lost a tooth a question they will want to answer.
