Your photo as a ten-second cinematic short

The most shared AI reels start from one real photo. Lock who is in it, give the camera something to do and the scene a few clear beats, and say plainly what must not happen.

What you need

  • One sharp, front-facing photo of yourself in good light
  • A scene in one sentence
  • Thirty minutes and a few generation credits

What you will have

  • A ten-second vertical clip
  • A version with sound and a line of text
  • The prompt, saved for the next one

  1. Step 1: Choose the photo

    5 minutes

    Front-facing, eyes visible, even light, nothing covering the face. The model can only keep what it can see.

  2. Step 2: Write the scene in one line

    5 minutes

    One place, one mood, one change. "Evening rain starts in an old bazaar" works; three ideas at once do not.

  3. Step 3: Write the video prompt

    10 minutes · Your video model

    Upload the photo as the reference, then paste this. It locks identity first, then gives four timed beats, the camera, the style and what must not happen.

    REFERENCE: use the uploaded photo as the only identity source. Keep the face, age, skin tone, hair and build of a man in his forties in a white kurta exactly. The photo sets identity only, not pose or background.

BEATS:
0–2 s: hold on the face, almost still, soft breath.
2–5 s: slow push in; they glance to one side and half smile.
5–8 s: light rain begins; warm lights flicker on behind them.
8–10 s: they look straight into the lens and the frame settles.

CAMERA: handheld-steady, 35 mm look, shallow depth of field, slow push in only.
STYLE: natural skin texture, warm practical lights, cinematic contrast, no filters.
AUDIO: none (added later).
DO NOT: change the face or age, add text or logos, add extra people in the foreground, morph hands, cut to a new shot.

  4. Step 4: Generate three, keep one

    Run it three times. Keep the take where the face stays truest; ignore the one that looks most dramatic.

  5. Step 5: Add sound and one line

    5 minutes · CapCut or Instagram

    Rain and street ambience at low volume, or a trending sound. One line of text in the first second, under six words.

  6. Step 6: Post it

    5 minutes · Instagram

    Post as a reel with the scene line as the caption. Save the prompt: changing only the place gives you a series.
